ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The four cylinder 1796cc engine produces 120bhp at 5500rpm and 165Nm torque at 3000rpm enabling a top speed of 120mph and 0-60 in just 8.5 seconds. The mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration processes all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. Regular servicing and a recent cam belt and water pump help ensure optimum running, along with fitment of a heavy-duty head gasket carried out as a precaution. A glorious sounding stainless exhaust was fitted in 2020 and the original is included to revert back to standard. The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Unique LE 16” multi-spoke alloy wheels have a few light markings and are shod in Matching Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres of size 215/40 ZR16 as per factory fitment. The original Goodyear spare tyre remains unused with coloured banding still visible. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs offer positive stopping power.
Only 2,000 MG 75th Limited Editions were made for the global market of which the UK market was allocated just 500, this UK example being number 1171. Registered on the 1st September 1999 and supplied by MG Main Dealers, Evans Halshaw of Macclesfield. A new car order form, sales invoice and handover form made out to first owner, Mrs Amelia Tester, confirms the price paid of £19,995. Clearly cherished by the three former keepers from new, the fully verified mileage covered is a mere 12,695 miles. The large history folder contains a comprehensive collection of receipts, invoices and previous MOT certificates leaving in no doubt the fastidious care this car has enjoyed. The original handbooks, instruction pamphlets and code tags are contained in the leather MG wallet along with the original service book with 10 stamped entries. The most recent documented cambelt and water pump change was carried out in 2016 at 10,854 miles and the last service was in November 2018 at 11,909 miles. Two sets of keys with dealer fobs and a Limited-Edition Sales Pack including the rare sales brochure complete the history file.
